MaseKhaya is a home for art, thought, and transformation. Grounded in the belief that creativity can reconnect us with ourselves and each other. The name draws from two powerful linguistic roots: “Ma se” meaning “mother’s” in Afrikaans, and “Masi” meaning “let us” in isiXhosa. Combined with “Khaya” - home- MaseKhaya becomes an invitation: let us go home, to belonging, to memory, to meaning.

Based in Cape Town, MaseKhaya is not just a place, but a way of gathering. We create experiences where art is lived, not just viewed. From nomadic exhibitions and artist residencies to community dinners, performances, and curriculum-shaping dialogues, we foster spaces that are reflective, collaborative, and rooted in African contexts.
